Rogue AI and Aug Encounters
Last checked: · 049-Rev3-L (reference-reported)
Direct answer
Augs are customers controlled by the rogue AI threat, and identification combines movement, clothing, dialogue and scanner results. An ordinary-looking portrait or natural greeting does not rule an aug out in the referenced Demo behavior.
Confirm before taking action
The in-game guide’s signs include unusual stillness, twitching, outfit mismatches and mechanical language. These are cues to inspect, not a requirement that every aug display every sign. A charged Aug Scanner can check the current customer; its ready state is not a negative detection result.
| Scanner energy per scan | 25 energy, reference-reported |
|---|---|
| Positive result | AUG DETECTED |
| Negative result | No Aug detected |
| Missed-aug game-over | Hard Mode only in cited current reference |
Use the correct encounter response
The game directs confirmed aug encounters to the gun, whereas wanted criminals are reported with the alarm. The Mentor warns that augs can hear Security communications. Missing augs fills a threat meter, but the Augmented game-over is limited to Hard Mode in the cited patch history; this page is not a full ending walkthrough.
