Save Transfer: Playtest, Demo and Full Game

Direct answer
Official pre-Demo announcements say Playtest saves can transfer to the Demo. The reviewed official evidence does not establish that Demo progress carries into the October 28 full release. A player citing Discord is not a developer confirmation of that second direction.
Keep the two transfer directions separate
A compatibility promise must name its source and destination. The August announcement supports the earlier Playtest-to-Demo transition; UPDATE 049's Discover button helps find manually added saves. Neither automatically verifies full-game imports.

Preserve progress without overwriting it
Keep an untouched backup before copying or importing files, and use the save location confirmed by the actual game or official guidance. Do not overwrite the only working save to test an unverified claim. This is a substantive status answer; it deliberately supplies no invented 1.0 conversion procedure.
