Discovering Manually Added Saves

Direct answer
UPDATE 049 adds a Discover button to the Load Game interface for manually added saves. Discovery makes a save visible to the loader; it does not guarantee that a save from every version, source or release branch is compatible.
Preserve the original before importing
Keep an untouched copy outside any location you are about to replace or synchronize. Use the save location established by the running game or official instructions; this page does not guess a universal filesystem path. After adding the intended save, use Discover and inspect the listed result.

Separate visibility from successful loading
If the file appears but will not load, the problem has moved beyond discovery. Record the source build, destination build and error instead of repeatedly renaming files. Playtest-to-Demo support and Demo-to-full-game support are different questions; the latter is not established by the Discover button.
