Metallurgy and Smelting

Direct answer
The current structured furnace reference describes an overnight recipe of two Metal Ore or Scrap Metal objects producing one Metal Ingot in a powered Furnace. Input purity matters; an ore-based batch and a scrap-based batch should not be budgeted as identical output.
Load actual input objects
Place the two compatible objects in the furnace rather than counting units contained inside another inventory item. Check power before ending the day. After processing, inspect the resulting ingot's purity and compare it with the materials consumed.
| Standard input | 2 ore or scrap objects |
|---|---|
| Standard output | 1 Metal Ingot |
| Timing | Overnight |
| Smelting agents | Basic or Advanced agent can improve ore purity |
Use agents and modules deliberately
A smelting agent supplements the material input; it does not replace one of the two pieces. Machine-specific modules can enable junk processing or a larger batch, changing the process itself. Check that route before spending on ordinary stat modules: the reference lists no Furnace Performance benefit.
