Bargaining and Reputation Costs
Last checked: · 049-Rev3-L (reference-reported)
Direct answer
Bargaining changes both the price decision and reputation consequences. UPDATE 049 separates buy-side and sell-side reputation multipliers and adjusts customer budgets; old strategies that transfer one direction's bargain benefit to the other are not current rules.
Read the direction of the deal
Buying from a seller and selling to a buyer use different cash flows. Check the panel's per-direction multiplier rather than assuming a single negotiation value governs both. A large asking price does not prove the visitor has the budget to accept a further increase.

Do not treat partial factors as complete odds
The structured reference explicitly leaves the combined budget and other acceptance factors unresolved. Its values are not enough for a guaranteed-success calculator. Negative faction reputation can amplify penalties, so compare a modest margin improvement with the risk of losing the customer and standing.
