Diplomatic
Last checked: · 049-Rev3-L (reference-reported)
Direct answer
Diplomatic costs two starting points and increases reputation earned from trade by 33%. UPDATE 049 fixed it incorrectly magnifying reputation losses, so the current benefit is for gains rather than a symmetric multiplier on every change.
Trade direction matters
Buying uses the price paid, while selling uses the negotiated item value with its own trade modifiers. The reference describes sequential reputation factors, so multiplying a visible final price by one constant will not reproduce every faction result.
| Point cost | +2 |
|---|---|
| Trade-reputation gain | +33% |
Plan for unlocks
Use the perk to support a faction-access goal, such as supplier or customer unlocks, while preserving profitable trades. Reputation and cash are different resources: deliberately generous buying may improve standing but still leave too little cash for rent.
